Serving Islam and the Ashrafiya : Progeny and Spiritual Lineage
The following Intuitive and Sagacious words of Hadrat Shah 'Ala'ul-Haqq w'ad-Din Ganj Nabat, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, who is the Spiritual Master and Guide of Hadrat Makhdum Sultan Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir Simnani, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, is unarguably applicable and so true when he said: "Farzand Ashraf bu'ai tu az sharq-o-garb mi ayad" "Son Ashraf your fragrant aroma is arriving from the east and west"
[i.e. Your name will become popular in the east and the west; be subject of much publicity and popularity] This of course resulted due to two factors:
1. From the many Karamat [Spiritual and physical miracles Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, manifested through the blessed and bounteous supplications of Ghawth ul-'Alam, Hadrat Makhdum Sultan, Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, Quddisa Sirrahu al-'aziz, for Hadrat Makhdum ul-Afaq, Haji ul-Haramayn, Sayyad 'Abd ur-Razzaq Nur al-'Ayn, al-Ashrafi, al-Jilani, Quddisa Sirrahu al-'aziz,] of the Ashrafiya Silsila is the endless and bounteous number of 'Ulama' and Masha'ikh they have internally produced throughout their past history and is gracefully continuous today, something we Muslims, especially from the Sub-continent must convey our sincere gratitude to and be humbly proud of: "man lam yashkur an-nas lam yashkur al-Allah"
[He who isn't grateful to people isn't grateful to Allah]
This being a living Karamat of the two above mentioned Spiritual Masters of the Ashrafiya Silsila which has enabled them to naturally flourish and emigrate to propagate and serve Islam.
2. Ghawth al-'Alam, Hadrat Makhdum Sultan, Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, Quddisa sirrahu al-'aziz, bestowed maximum kindness and generosity towards the Progeny of Hadrat Makhdum ul-Afaq, Haji ul-Haramayn, Sayyad 'Abd ur-Razzaq Nur ul-'Ayn, al-Ashrafi, al-Jilani, Quddisa sirrahu al-'aziz, as mentioned in Lata'if-e-Ashrafi: Spiritual Subtleties of Ashraf, Page: 386: Once, a Governor of some State offered Hadrat 'Abd ur-Razzaq Nur al-'Ayn, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, an estate......as a gesture of kindness of his devotion. Hadrat Nur al-'Ayn, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, vehemently refused to accept it. The news of his refusal travelled fast to Hadrat Makhdum Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, who apparently was awaiting this very news. The inner delight and silent praise concealed inside the illumined heart of Hadrat Makhdum Sultan, Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, instinctively appeared upon Hadrat Makhdum's, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, illumined face manifesting rays of spiritual contentment and gratitude.
Hadrat Makhdum Sultan, Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, called upon Hadrat Nur al-'Ayn, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, to sit near him and endowed him munificently with overwhelming kindness and bounteous generosity of spiritual secrets and mysteries of ghayb: from the hidden realm of ultimate realities.
Hadrat Makhdum Sultan, Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, concluded his munificent bequeaths with the following advice and supplication:
"We have made 'Abd ur-Razzaq and his progeny our sharik [spiritual peers] in the treasures [bounteous secrets of the hidden realm of ultimate realities: Mysteries and Secrets of Allah, His Essence, Tawhid, Messengerhood, Prophethood, the ultimate world of realities, Wilayah, etc] of the Almighty, and I have petitioned [Allah, 'azza wa jalla] the Eternal Being, that if 'Abd ur-Razzaq and his progeny and their subsequent progeny remain content [with Allah, 'azza wa jalla] they shall never be dependent upon anyone." ......And thus it was ordained......those amongst his blessed progeny who remained content with Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,......then......till today in sincere service and servitude of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, accepting all they were destined to embrace......benefit or harm in this virtuous endeavour......distancing themselves from the impious affluent, deceitful politicians or contemptible heads of state......we comprehensively see today as the living progeny and spiritual heirs of the Great Spiritual Masters of the Ashrafi Dynasty and Sincere bearers of their rich Legacy and devout Heritage. In return for upholding this spiritual covenant which evolved through the inspiration, intuitive and sagacious supplication of Hadrat Makhdum Sultan, Sayyad Ashraf Jahangir, Simnani, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan,.....Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, honoured and blessed their progeny with the service of and preservation and guardianship of His Din, Islam. As long as they are content with Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, are steadfast in His way and remain content with whatever He provides for them through their service to Islam, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, will assist them, protect and preserve them, and grant them good name amongst Muslims whom they unreservedly serve and guide and award them respect in the four corners of the world. He......Allah......alone will provide for them through respectable and virtuous means. And this alone is the way and path of our Pious Predecessors which excelled them as exemplars for future Muslim generations to emulate. May Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, be well pleased with them all.
Of recent times it was the spiritually ranked and commonly acclaimed: Qutb'ul-Irshad, Mahbub-e-Rahmani, Formal address; A'ala-Hadrat, of Prophetic lineage; Sayyad, household laqab: appellation; Shah and Shaykh, Kunya; Abu Ahmad, Personal name; Muhammad 'Ali Husayn Ashraf, Takhallus: Pen name; Ashrafi, through Spiritual lineage; al-Ashrafi and through noble ancestral descent from Ghawth al-A'azam, Allah be pleased with him; al-Jilani, who devoted his lifetime to serve the True Din and inspired the revival and widespread name of the Ashrafi Spiritual teachings and message. In India many centres of academic learning were established and operated under his personal patronage. The advancement of Din on a Scholarly, academic and spiritual level was always his ultimate goal and ambition. He was constantly striving to disseminate the spiritual instructions of the Ashrafi Sufi Masters.
It was A'ala Hadrat Ashrafi Mi'ain, 'alayhi al-rahmah w'al-ridwan, (great grandfather of Shaykh al Islam) who conveyed, communicated and imparted Islam and instituted religious awareness outside India, amongst 'Arabs and non-'Arabs and in the east and west of the globe. This includes countries like: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Colombo, Burma, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Dubai, Bahrain, Britain, Africa, etc.
